So I might be taking the head off

you need compressed air, all your doing is blowing air into your pistons and listening to see if the air is leaking into the oil pan, intake manifold or the exhaust manifold. that'll tell you where your problem is.
btw the 2mm headgasket is going to lose power. if your gonna get your head rebuilt, they are most likely going to deck the head and shave off a bit on the bottom end of the head so your compression will increase a bit, its not going to be anything drastic, so you probably wont even feel it. basically you do as everyone else is saying, if you get new valves get flat valves to increase coompression, keep the stock springs, and get ap2 retainers. your not going to get any gains going past the 9k redline.

Are you positive the ticking isn't injector noise? Don't mean to offend you, but some people get surprised at how loud injector ticking can be.
Is the noise steady and follows RPM or is it random?

/\ I took it to honda 3 times (under warranty) they say nothing is wrong haha. But its the same dealer that said s2k diffs are strong and never have problems haha. I told them from day one it was my injectors, then they admitted to doing the valve adjustment wrong. But they said the valves are still to spec. So bad injector? Its a common problem?
