Just did the LHT airbox mod with K&N filter replacement and the throttle response is immediately noticed. I’ve done enough reading to know there isn’t a real hp change, but the sound and feel is notable. Can’t wait for hfc and exhaust to join in with tune!

I think for 06+ DBW cars the answer is a simple YES, just tune it, Flashpro makes it so easy, and the 06+ cars ran leaner, so you have less threshold to play with.

I am struggling with the decision on whether to tune my 04. It's hard to find a tuner that will work with the Greddy E-Manage, and other options such as KPro will not pass emissions...also the 04-05 run a little richer than 06+, so the question remains whether you need to tune it from a safety perspective if just running bolt ons like HFC and exhaust.

Personally I think I may just look for a dyno session to see if the car leans out anywhere. If it does, that will answer the question of whether a tune is necessary.

Well. I did the airbox mod, hfc and Tanabe Medalion Touring exhaust. Had the car tuned and below are results. Blue is mods w/o tune and red is mods w/ tune.

What's the sound like after the airbox mod?

Not to thread jack from the OP but this seems like a fitting thread to ask: I have a '00 AP1 with the stock airbox and filter, an Invidia 60mm TP and a J's Racing FX70RS titanium single exit exhaust. Does my stock ECU adjust any parameters for these mods? I have reset the ECU after installing them a fairly long while back.

At WOT there is no adjustment at all, except for environmental changes.

So basically I'll definitely benefit from a tune like pretty much everyone else here has. Are there adjustments at partial throttle then?
