Default Valves, valve springs and retainers

When I was on the track a while a go I mis shifted into 3rd at a little over 110. At the time I had a sloppy clutch so I recon that took a fair brunt of it, engine has been running fine since.

However, I'm getting the valve clearances checked, so at the same tim I'm asking them to check the retainers incase there is damage.

If they are damaged I know I'll need to replace them else risk the engine going pop. My question is what do I go for? I've seen about ti retainers dual valve spring and bigger valves. I'm wanting to go na tuned so is any of this worth getting ?

not so much, unless you are willing to drop 20K and push 300 wph and rev to 9.5K or 10 K. if not then NO! but i would recommend ap2 stuff. they stand up tp hell of alot of crap. well at least mine has. i think i'm in the neighbor hood of 4 mis-shifts.

Question, in regards to the dual valve springs. What is the pro and con of this setup?

No pros or cons unless you're running aftermarket cams. Only thing you should consider changing on a stock head is to put AP2 retainers in if you don't have them already.

The stock head revs to 9k fine, it's the weight below and piston speeds that prohibit it from reving higher safely.

My guess is you will be ok. Just have the retainers checked.

I over revved a while back, (AP1) and have had no problems as of now *knocks on wood*... I think if they end up checking out wrong, just go with Toda Racing Springs, Titanium retainers and valves

Check your retainers if you've ever over-reved. Not sure if you've read Billman's posts but one over rev can mess up your retainers. You might not drop a valve until 30k miles later, but it's almost always destined to happen.
