Default Vtec killer cams Q

I'm surfin the internet finding parts I want in the future when I have the money. and I came across Toda cams, and they have Vtec killer cams. I'm curious as to why exactly they are called "vtec killers" do they actual "kill" the vtec? or what?

They remove the middle cam lobe and replace the middle VTEC rocker with a spacing collar.

The valves are actuated by what is normally the off VTEC rockers and lobes except with a high lift camshaft.

These are used for racing where lower rpm performance is not important.

Legend has it an older Japanese gentleman took his car out for a spin one night after installing his new set of TODA VTEC Killer cams. He gave it some go juice on the freeway and VTEC kicked in so hard it snapped his neck and he died.

That's how the story goes anyway. My translation could be a little bit off, the only thing Japanese about me is my obsession with different flavored Pocky.
