Default What happens with a test pipe too big for exhaust piping?

So I just bought this test pipe used from a member & looks like this is a 70mm test pipe while I have 63mm exhaust piping. Will it still bolt up? & would I have a exhaust leak if I do? thanks guys

It will bolt up just fine. The flanges are the same size. And no exhaust leaks either. I had my Invidia 70mm TP on with my stock exhaust. Only thing is you will have a little lip at the transition from TP to exhaust. Shouldn't hurt you too badly.

You will get better performance from a test pipe that matches the diameter of your exhaust, and you will probably also get less drone.

I did a big test of test pipes a few months ago, and created a detailed thread about it, but I can't find it on the new site ...

Dang, that was a great write up on test pipe diameters, hope it's still around somewhere. Exhaust gas flow dynamics are really influenced by changes in diameter, consistence seems to be best.

Here you go guys. You just have to know how to use the search function.

That's a great test. If you have no plans on getting a 70mm exhaust, then I'd get a test-pipe of the same size as your current exhaust.
