Who has an EMS on their NA car?
Just like the title says... Does it make enough of a difference to make it worth having my car retuned? Only mods now are AEM V2 and test pipe with Skunk2 exhaust. I have my Haltech for sale right now, but Im considering keeping it and having it retuned if it will be worth it.

In for replies. I've heard tuning via AEM with bolt-ons can yeild pretty good gains. I've always wondered if it's true. I want some dyno proof.

AEM or Haltech, they'll both achieve the same goals if used properly. Any car will show improvement from tuning, however, the platform given, will not pin you to your seat. Better drivability and smoother power output is what most aim for.
I have an AEM v2 on my NA, E85 car. I am pretty certain dyno graphs can be found on this site for tuned vs untuned gains. |
How much power did you gain on e85? I know power is better achieved on FI cars (evo/Subie) but just curious on any significant power increased. I know the benefits of running e85 is lower cost on premium fuel, cleaner emissions, cooler temps, supports American economy and is supposedly better on enternals, according to technicians who disassembled a Chevy Tahoe. :suspect: :ponder:

My buddy Alberto Rodriguez from CCC racing says he can make me about another 25-30 horse with my bolt ons and an AEM.

If you want better from your NA setup, as long as you are 06+, you can get it flashed and etuned by folks on here (Evans and Gernby). |
I gained about 10hp/10tq across most of my power band on E85 (Actually VP Fuels C85). Haltech Pro Plug-In with Flex Fuel sensor and 1000cc injectors.

Well, I wouldnt expect any shocking gains like I got with my turbo setup for sure. With the gains seeming to be minimal, at least on a street car, I think Ill probably just leave it out until I get my next project under way. Im really undecided on what the future holds, but it will for sure either be the SOS supercharger kit or the new SOS turbo kit.

I agree. Unless you have very specific needs for ethanol it's really not great for normal use since you also really can't leave it in there for long periods of time.
