Default Wrapping exhaust manifold

Hi

I would like to know / "ear" about your experience...

It is advise to warp or not to warp performance manifold exhaust??
I was checking and for ex I never saw a spoon race car with the warp in the exhaust manifold...

Thanks

Are you talking about wrapping a manifold in heat insulation? or bending the piping by warping it ?

If you want to WRAP the manifold go ahead there is nothing but good that can come of it by reducing under hood temperatures and heat soak.

I would not suggest WARPING the pipe as it has been specifically engineered to to maximize performance in its current form.

Thank you for your kind answer and sorry for my english.....

Yes what I would like to ear your opinion is about wrapping the exhaust manifold with thermo-tec tape ..... Thanks

I agree with Reapur regarding wrapping the exhaust manifold (aka header). There is no performance gain (if there's any it's minimal). I wrapped my header to decrease intake heat soak and to keep engine bay temp down. Hope this helps.

I wouldn't think theres a performance gain but I think the purpose of it is to retain THAT level performance. Like lets say a car makes 300 hp then a few laps the engine bay gets hot and loses some hp. I think its more like to keep the power loss at minimal rather than increasing power.

Get it jethot coated instead, wrapping tends to fail in time.

You only wrap manifolds to decrease heat into the engine bay and increase exhaust gas velocity which in turns help performance but its probably minute.

it does reduce the heat! header wrap is readily available

Due it right and get it coated. My Berk coated header gives off less heat than the engine it self.
