ZDX/J37 DBW throttlebody , any issues?
hi all,
have heard that the OEM zdx / j37 big throttle body can be run on the s2000 oem manifold but I've also heard that it might actually throw a CEL which may or may not go away.
Anyone with experiences or knowledge to share regarding this modification?

The code in question is P1683 - throttle valve default spring position. The solution appears to be to back out the default position set screw of the J37 TB to a TPSA voltage of 0.84v (REL TPS 6.67%). You can read more on the research over at 8thcivic.com. Now, that in no way addresses Hondata's concern that the ICs within the throttle actuator module can handle the higher current of the bigger J37 motor. To date, though, I haven't read any accounts where an S2000 nor Civic has encountered a thermal shutdown. Good luck!

OP I would recommend not swapping DBW TB unless you know the exact steps to mate it up to the s2k dbw controller

it's not that easy. We tried the civic si method like 10 times on 06estukay's car and couldn't get the car to idle properly without throwing a cel and going into limp mode with a crazy bouncy idle. The civic si dbw controller works different than the s2kunit (which is separate from the ecu and buried in the passenger side dash). Eventually the TB worked OK but he drove around for 4-6 weeks and was manually giving the car gas at idle otherwise it would go into the cel mode with bouncing idle. We tried the j37 TB on another s2k and had the same issues not getting it to mate successfully
