$12 Brake Ducts

Got the idea from a local S2000 member, it was time to change up the ducts and I wanted something cheap and not attached to the bumper. You can play with position and get them very close to the bumper. Got the oil funnels for $12 from amazon.

Funnel

Used JB weld Plastic and a little gorilla take to attach hose to funnel

Passenger side was trickier as I wanted to keep AEM intake, I had to trim the front of the funnel just a little

need to clean up the bumper still but its done otherwise. Just wanted to share it as an option for those looking for a low cost solution and something not attached to the bumper

nice. I like it.

I'll do it the next time. I just took my bumper off, install brackets for a splitter, and am about the mount the splitter on. I don't feel like pulling my bumper again. But yes, It will be really nice not having my brake ducts attached to the front bumper. I'll likely spray paint the inside of those funnels black for a cleaner look, and put some wire mesh over them to keep junk out of my ducts and hoses.

Same! Could probably add some weather stripping of some sort to the funnel add a bit of a seal to the bumper.

GENIUS!

What size hose did you guys end up using with the funnels?

devildust 04-19-2018 06:34 AM

I'll have to double check, it's either 2 or 2.5,they are old hoses.

This mod looks familiar lol. Came up with this poor man's setup back in 2014. Funnels are held in by a single rivet to the frame. I don't even use hi-temp brake hose, just shop vac hose. Removed dust shields and have hoses zip tied to the lower arm, pointed at the rotor center. Tested and it definitely works well enough, especially for the money.
