Default 06+ AP2 computer fuel/ign cut on launch?

well, this past weekend i had the car just flat die on me while launching for a pro solo. ugh. 08 CR, no mods aside from exhaust, full tank, vsa off:

ebrake up, rev to 7000-7500, dump clutch, car just dies.... rpms come down with foot on the floor. i put the clutch in, revs fine, then i can take off. wtf? i never heard about this till it happened to me, then other have said "yeah, it is an s2000 thing".

anyone have any insight? thanks.

Heat soak? There's nothing inherent in the ECU design that would prevent normal operation. Does the CR have traction control? Was it off? Sounds like a one time anomaly...

Have you been able to replicate it since the ProSolo? I wonder if it could be a loose wire or plug or something that loses connection when it shakes violently or something?

I've never heard of that being "an s2000 thing" though...

no, car dies (loses power, rpms drop) as i let the clutch out. process goes like this:

stage car
ebrake up
rev to 7500
light drops
dump ebrake/clutch
car loses power, doesn;t even spin wheels, rolls 10'
clutch in, car revs fine, drive again....

happened to me 2x during the pro. the only thing i can think of is maybe the ecu thinks the throttle is stuck? then it cuts power to "save" me from crashing? i dunno. and yeah, stupid honda. "racer" model with a fuel cut. between this and the stupid fuel pickup, this car is not what i planned.

have you tried without the ebrake? since it's dbw there may be something about not letting you to go crazy w/ the ebrake on... just like you can't put the top up/down without ebrake only opposite.

Maybe it's a safety cause of the ebrake being up?

I've launched many times before (but with no ebrake) and that has never happened to me. Only time it happened was because that one time I forgot to turn off the VSA and it felt like the car hit a wall right after launch.

Next time try with ebrake up and then down and see what happens.
