Default 2005 S2000 Challenge Series NEW RULES!

Paraphrased and updated from dt's '04 rules thread, consider this as gospel from dt hizzownbadself:

"Greetings Earthlings

February 14, 2005 and it's time to lay down the law for this year's S2000 Challenge. I'll start with the basics:

p1.
Speed Ventures is holding 20 events this year. 12 of these will be points winning events. These 12 events will provide 19 eligible event-days (not all are two day events). Of these 19 event days, each participant will take his best 12 days. (ie. if you go to all 12 events, you'll end up dropping 7 days)

Count 'em: only 12 days out of 365!!!

This doesn't mean you can't come to our other events. In fact, if you want to win the state championship in our time trial series you'll have to attend a few other events. If you want to get fast, you need to come to every event.

Here are the eligible dates. (Note that those of you going to Streets on Feb. 18 aren't going to get squat for showing up. I'll buy each one of you dinner to make it up to you, with the exception of: krazik, davepk, rlaifatt, ludedude, twohoos, ashon, kshon, cthree, ltafoya, jweb, drewchie, krazykarim, msim, and sri):

1995 S2000 CHALLENGE SERIES SCHEDULE

Event #8: BIG TRACK @ at Willow Springs, August 13 & 14

Event #11: California Speedway (INFIELD), November 5 & 6
Event #12: Streets of Willow, December 9

Moving on:

p.2

PRIZES. There will be awards paid in cash, speedo's (the SV monetary unit), or other prizes, such as brake pads, tires, etc. at each event. The total $ (or S, the symbol for the speedo) value of these has yet to be determined so don't go quitting your jobs just yet davepk, josh3io, cthree, or... oh that's right you guys don't have jobs.

There will be year end prizes as well as event-to-event prizes.

p.3
Speed Ventures is instituting a new membership program. Timing will be $20, including transponder rental for everyone, whether you're a member or not. If you have a transponder, the timing fee will be $10. If you join the S2000 Challenge Series/Speed Ventures you will get a T-shirt, a membership card, and a discount off of every event you attend. The S2KI meet is March 6th, ONE day.

You need to hire an editor/proof reader

I thought March 6th was going to be non-competitive?! We don't want to scare the multitude of newbies with wrecks into tirewalls at the same time we are trying to recruit them to be regulars at Speed Ventures. Then again, it works for NASCAR.

I vote we add Feb 18th to the list (so 13 events) to give Drew his points!
