Default 2015 S2K Challenge #1 Buttonwillow

Greeting Track Junkies,

Its that time of the year where we all shake off the holidays and head to the track. For most this IS the event of the year. The kickoff typically has the fastest times of the year and new personal bests will be set. With semi new pavement and cold temps it is a prime time to ignore your holiday credit card bill and escape to the beautiful city of Buttonwillow.

Naturally we will be running CW13. As of now we will be running a fast time of the day format. However in an effort to get the award ceremony in prior to guys and gals leaving early sessions 2-3 will count. We are also working on a possible TT format for this event. It is all dependent on our attendance.

So book your rooms at the Motel 6 and sign up asap. There is a slight discount for early sign ups on the speedventures website link below.

As always please see the link to the rules in my signature.

New for 2015 a Class Calculator. Ryan created a spreadsheet where you can add points up and class your car without breaking out the Abacus.

Class Calculator

For those of you looking to shave off a couple of tenths check out this video from last year.

I'm going to have to miss this one to attend the 1st round for 86CUP. I'll be present for #2 at ACS (signing up tomorrow).

Why wouldn't session 1 count if people are leaving early? Maybe just me but it seems counter-intuitive. I don't see a reason why we're not counting session 1 especially considering its usually the least crowded group of the day...

Aaron never liked us going hot in session one...going off is a big no no lol.

Gridding can kill you too...track is cold...dirty...etc. it's not really ideal session but it doesn't matter to me. I don't run hot usually in 1 lol

So why would you be against it? Its not like everyone won't have the same disadvantage with gridding. Let the laps count so we can close it off at session 3. If it is only session 2 + 3 I can almost guarantee there will be people who don't get clean laps. Just because you delay your balls-to-the-walls driving until session 2 doesn't mean session 2 is going to be better. People will just go off during session 2 and muck it up for everyone regardless no?

I haven't been to ANY bw day where less than 10+ people go off. Seriously. It's a friggin zoo out there no matter who is hosting.
