Vegas Baby!!!!
We are back and what an event! 22 total drivers came out which is massive for an event that was out of state. A little over a quarter of our drivers were vegas locals as well, coming out to represent their town.
Making it doubly interesting, this event was our long-awaited HFF vs S2K challenge all-honda grudgematch. Weeks of smack-talk and internet memes culminated in a single-session time attack style shoot out at the end of the day, and a prodigous amount of terrible champagne being dumped on the winners.
Stock had only a single driver, our stock crusader Jorge Trujillo taking 1st with a 2:11.130
Street was a hotly contested class with a good mix of local and away talent but top honors went to Jason Woan stepping out of his mod car and into a newly purchased CR with a 2:04.310. Immediately on his tail by only 2 hundredths was Yukio Kishimoto with a 2:04.331. 3rd place was snagged by our current Street class points leader Ryan LaFontaine with a 2:05.699. Series veteran Fernando Muga grapped 4th with a 2:07.673 with east-coast tranplant Earl Chon taking 5th with a 2:08.753 and local Jose Jauregui took 6th with a 2:08.910 followed by another local John Gratson in 7th with a 2:10.350 and finally Kevin Krell with a 2:20.000 filled out the field.
Mod class was another dogfight to the end with top honors going to Ryan Delgrosso in session 3 with a 2:02.786 narrowly edging out Kevin Burke with a 2:02.991 with local Paul Parquette filling out the podium with a 2:04.645. Local Daniel Domingcil was close on Pauls heels with a 2:04.909 with another local Gerin Toguchi grabbing 5th with a 2:06.240. RSG’s own Adan Calderon grabbed 6th with a 2:08.565 with RSG’s Miguel Casteneda taking 7th with a 2:09.590 with Eryk Michalak taking 8th with a 2:11.065
Supermod was where things got serious with this track showing how much difference boost makes. Top honors went to Dustin Dessero with a staggering 1:53.911 followed by David Lara with a 1:55.730 with Chris Elders filling out the podium with a 1:58.384. RSG’s own J-money Justin Taylor took 4th with a 2:01.146 while local Reymund Balyut AKA “Buggy” grabbed 5th with a 2:05.581
As this was virtually everybodys first time at this track fantastic driving everyone. Fastest times were almost universally set in the heat of session 3 so if we come back here expect times to fall FAST.
Now onto the 2nd event of the day the HFF vs S2K Challenge. Much smack was talked in both camps. We decided ONLY session 4 could count for this time-attack style
S2K Supermod vs HFF Unlimited
1st place: S2K Dustin Dessero: 1:55.255
2nd place: S2K David Lara 1:56.371
3rd place: HFF Willem Drees 2:00.143

For those who ran this past weeked, you can add your times here:
Lap Times – Track Lap Times
Some quick cars out there, I believe the fastest S2000 was at a 1:53? The fastest time I saw was a 1:51 by an incredibly well driven z4 coupe.

Here is my video of my winning lap and dogfight with Cevin

Had multiple 2:01's showing on predictive that session but no clear path to pass.

A friend let me borrow his mod car for a session, so I took it out for a few laps:
Ran a 2:02.685 on the first hot lap. I imagine if he took off the GCs (only reason why he's in Mod) and stuck, say eibach pro kits on it - the car would run the same times and dominate street class.
Also, my next two laps get significantly slower because a C5Z gets in my way:

My personal best is a 2:01.655 (
It appears you are carrying more speed down the front straight -- although this is based on two different types of data (harrys vs. solo?), but there are a few corners where you hold a tighter line than I do, as well as your minimum corner speed is just slightly lower in a few turns -- such as T1 where I'm 61mph min, yours shows 58mph.
