Those setups are still up to date.

The only thing I would add: If you're going to autocross with 18x11's up front, consider using the J's racing camber joints instead of the SPC joint.

The SPC pulls the top of the wheel in, whereas the J's pushes the bottom of the wheel out. Less interference with the shock bodies on higher steering inputs. Also less moving parts to mess up.

I'm bringing this back from the dead because this information just became relevant again. Since we were just jammed into another class that has no limit on tire and wheel size BUT does restrict flaring I have a more pointed question. What was the biggest wheel / tire you could fit up front with just a fender roll? I've seen 285 AND 295 as an option on both 10.5 and 11 inch wheels (with 8.5 inch backspacing) but the rest of the information gets a little murky. The newest update says to use the J's racing lower joint instead of the SPC upper ball joint. I'm also seeing 2.25 inch springs are needed and others are saying 2.5 inch springs work.

Who's run the biggest up front with no fender pulling or flaring and what did you do to make that possible?

Thanks in advance!

I think I now own the set of wheels this post was based on. I own this set and an incomplete set of 3-10.5" CCW C10's with 8" BS. I am running the 10.5's up front with -3.2 degrees of camber with SPC upper ball joints. I am running the 1/2" concentric CCW spacers with KW V3's with 2.5" springs. I did need to add mustang rack spacers to limit the steering to keep the wheel from hitting the upper arm at full lock. The car is currently sitting on 285/30 Federal 595-RS's. I think the 285/30's don't offer enough sidewall so I hope to move to 295/30's. I'll grab a height measurement this weekend. Let me know if I missed something that might be pertinent. Thanks Maniac for the info bump. I've read this post countless times hoping my setup would work out.

That's some good info!

I'm not sure what the rack spacers are and I'm not sure if they are class legal. Are your wheels currently 18x10.5 with 8 inch backspacing up front and if so would a larger spacer help it not hit the arm? Would an aftermarket upper arm help the clearance?

Do you by any chance have any pictures of how close it comes to the fender?

Thanks so much!

Rack limiters are correct. I bought this kit. https://www.ebay.com/itm/232090339669
I used two on each side. Forgive me there. Mine are 18x10.5 with 8" backspacing. From what I recall while test fitting, it's a fine line between pushing the wheel out or limiting steering. It's really all up to what you're willing to compromise. Up until we lost our local site, I was autocrossing this setup monthly.
Edit
The 10” width wheels with a 1/2” spacer would solve the steering/upper arm issue.

The whole album is here.
https://www.s2ki.com/g/album/23809707

The ones that you'll specifically want to see are the ride height. Warning large.

The inner wheel well photos were all taken with the wheel at full lock. The upper arm is approximately a 1/2" from the upper a-arm. I had more room than I thought there.

There are more in that album, but I'd say these two show the most information. Forgive the torn fender liner. My previous wheels (RPF1) did that damage.

You are my hero! It does look like you could massage a 10.5 in there up front! My RPF1's have obliterated my fender liners too!

Without the rack stops what does the wheel hit first? If it's the upper arm we could possibly use an aftermarket arm to get more clearance?

Thanks again!

I don't know that I had contact anywhere except the upper arm. I've got to tell you I don't know that I tested it with the car aligned/weighted. I had about a finger width at the barrel and upper arm today when I took the above photos. I've got 1/2" spacers, but something a bit over could get it done. A 1/8" would likely do it, but a 1/16" could possibly get it done. I didn't have an outlet for a custom spacer and wanted a bolt-on fix even if I lost some steering. It's a dream setup on a stock body s2000. I'm just glad to be able to pay a little back as this was my guide setting up the car.

You are basically one of the pioneers for this new setup. It's just so expensive for custom wheels that I need to get it right the first time and make it fit lol.
