First of all you will need to roll your fenders just to clear the tire, not to mention you wouldn't be able to rotate tires.

I'd go 17x9 +55 square with 255/40/17 for simplicity and then get a good track alignment
That was my original plan and it seems better than 10". I just thought that since the car comes from the factory staggered it would perform better staggered. But everyone seems to agree on square so I'll go that route. I guess I was worried about having such a big tire up front. Have any track alignment recommendation or should I just have a shop give me options?

I didn't like having 255's in the front at first when driving on the street (to the track) since it felt so heavy on the steering compared to 205's. But once I got it on the track, I love it and used to it on the street (to/from track).

Keep this vital rule in mind:
Everything comes at a cost.

If you were trying to squeeze every last ounce of performance then sure a 10" would probably be a better solution, but it would cost you your fenders.

As far as the factory stagger, sure they could have probably given the car 225 square and the fenders would be safe, but people would probably be spinning like tops just trying to go to starbucks. The stagger fitment is to give you a nice comfy under steering to the general masses.

With a square setup, the limit is no longer the front, the limit of grip becomes the rear which later on is a heck less scary than having no front grip through a turn.

As far as alignment, again it's a give and take and depends greatly on AP1 vs AP2 and the setup of the car not to mention the type of tracks you will be driving.
Other things you would want to consider:
What type of tire are you driving?
Do you drive to the track and back or daily?

If you drive the car to the track on an EHP class tire and it's a daily driver I would probably recommend something like this:
-2 camber all the way around
As much front caster as you can get that get's you -2 camber but no more than 6.5 degrees
0 front toe
1/8" toe in rear
as always:
0 cross camber
0 cross toe
0 cross caster
and make sure the thrust angle is 0

I just installed their 17x10 square with Maxxis RC1 255/40/17. Pull front fender. No fitment issues with finder or my ST40 BBK.

Same thing. Light pull + BBK + 949 17x10 = winning

Is that with the +52 offset?

Awesome. I may purchase some 17x10 +52 to have a second set of 17x10 wheels that fits over the Stoptech ST40 BBK.

17x10 +52 square on track. Flat roll and minor pull (if you can consider it that).

For the 17x10 wheels, is a fender roll/pull only necessary in the front? Or will there be a need for some in the rear as well?
