A032R vs. Victoracer vs. Sport Cups
I ordered RA-1's from Vilven this morning. $670 shaved to 4/32 and shipped. But they said they don't heat cycle them. What should I do to properly heat cycle them myself? Do figure-8's until they get hot and then let them cool completely? Hopefully I don't get arrested for doing figure-8's in a parking lot... also, I don't want to overheat my diff just doing figure 8's (Kaaz diff).
So I just ordered my Toyo's from Bob Vilven today...
I ended up buying full-tread. My S02's, the front's at least, are shot and need replacing, so I'll try the Toyo's for awhile as a full-time tire w/ track days mixed in. He did take off $10/tire for no shaving. Ordering desk doesn't seem to know about that discount, though.
I'm not sure how the experiment will work, but if I keep the Toyo's on and the P+'s installed, I can just pop over to the track anytime without doing tire/brake changeovers on either side. SCR has an open track, cars only, every Wednesday night during racing season. I found I didn't go as often as I would have liked last year, mostly because I didn't find the time to do the swapover...
Just have to learn to live with the P+ brake squeel on the street!
The other potential advantage is that even with an aggressive camber setting, I get early wear on the inside edges of my street tires, and tear up the outside edges of the race tires. Now my abnormal wear will even out a little!
