Accident at Big Willow

I have never heard of the a-pillar or the roll hoops collapsing in an accident.
Truly sad.
I was parked next to Joe at the redline track day at SOW.
We chatted through out the day about cars and his Mini S. We both went to the track alone that day and hung out with others.
I only met him that day but it truly saddens me that this happened.
I hope his family is doing well. RIP

I did an event at California Speedway last weekend. Someone there told me that two cars had rolled in the downhill esses at Streets of Willow the week before. One, I was told, was an S2K. Anyone know anything about this? He said the S2K's A-pillar held up very well even though the car rolled three times.
I recently ordered a harddog 5 point with cross and diag beams because i simply do not feel safe at lapping/time attacks. I am sure the A piller and roll hoops assist, but in a rollover i wouldnt expect them to save me like a true welded in 5 point.

I've seen entire cars torn apart in accidents. It all has to do with what you hit and how much energy is involved. The reinforced windshield frame is better than nothing, but it's certainly not invulnerable.
