Default Aim mxs

If I get a aim mxs can I just leave my gauge out and if I do will I run into any issues? 2007. Getting the car caged and I’m not sure if the gauge will fit plus I want to add tire pressure and temperature monitoring.

gauge?? Do you mean the dash? Are you going to run the OEM ECU? Do you want the ABS and EPS to function?

yes the dash. Running factory ecu And yes for eps and abs. Looking at the schematic I was unsure. Figured I would ask others experience.

You will need to keep the OEM Instrument Cluster in there, and find a suitable mount for the MXS so you can run external sensors, TPMS, etc.

You can remove it all. However. I’ve had to modify how the eps works and I do not run abs.

Reroute the speed sensor direct from the gearbox to the steering. And split to the ecu

So you have options:

1. There is no requirement to permanently remove the OEM dash, in order to have a proper cage. Further, you can notch the OEM dashboard and reinstall it, along with the OEM dash. As others have said, you can then retain the dash to get the 07 OEM ABS and EPS to work. This is really the simplest thing to do if you are retaining the OEM ECU. Then use something like the Ballade Sport AIM MXS mount (just google it). It will place the AIM MXS in front of the OEM dash, with the benefit of it being under the dashboard hood, to keep it readable in the sun. Even though I’m running aftermarket ECU, I still use this mount

2. You can discard it all, backdate the entire ABS system to AP2v1, and use some method (like described above) to get the EPS to work. If you decide to do this, somewhere I have a post reference that could possibly help with how to program some signals for the using aftermarket ECU.
