Autocrossing in Atlanta....Anyone is welcome

If anyone is interested.... I am a new member of the Porsche Club of America and a previous S2000 owner. We do autocrossing events at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds every month or so. If anyone is interested, let me know. There are already several S2000's out there, as well as M3's, 350Z's, Lancer Evo's, Miatas, etc... I currently drive a Porsche 944 Turbo and if anyone is interested in running around, let me know. I really miss my S2000 and would love to see what the Porsche would against an S2000. capitan100@aol.com

Hey I just did a BMWCCA event at that lot yesterday. Is there a website that has event schedules and registraition info?

It would be great if we could hire a crew to clean that lot. It's getting very loose with all the marbles and dirt. I spun out a few times yesterday and I got a cockpit full of sand and tire particles.

Yeah...go to : www.peachstatepca.org it will tell you the dates for the autocrossing events. I think the next one that I will be attending is Oct 10th....

Yeah...that lot definitely needs to be cleaned more often. Let me know when the next BMW event is...I might try to go up there and run. Is it around $20 bucks to run 4 times?

You should do the SCCA event at Turner Field on Sunday. Preregister at www.myautoevents.com It's 35 for non-scca members and you get 4 runs most of the time with the ocasional 5 run day.

The BMW events are 30 bucks for non-members and we got 5 runs with 3 fun runs (non-timed) at the end. The non-timed bit kinda sucked because you can't see if changes you made made any difference.

This sounds like fun! Do you have to register or can you just go to the fairgrounds? Will there be helmets available? And most of all..how do you get to Gwinnett County Fairgrounds? :thinker: I'll be going 85 north to exit ...Thanx in advance. PM me!

glagola.... thanks... the reason why I asked is because I traded mine in at Atlanta Toyota a year ago...yours is the same color as mine was. I took the Alpine radio and Comptech strut bar off the car when I traded it in. I did leave the exhaust, MB Quart speakers and the Mingster airscreen on the car. Just wanted to see if your car wasn't my old car....LOL Mine also had 40,000 miles on it as well....with a brand new engine that only had 5000 miles on it.

Billyblast...

You can register there...just get there earlier... They do have extra helmets...they also have an instructor to ride with you the first time to get familiar....the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds are 85 North. Exit Sugarloaf Parkway... Go East on Sugarloaf for about 5-6 miles. The Fairgrounds are on your left. You will cross over 316 as well. Email me and we can hook up. Thanks

Any of you guys going to the SCCA event this weekend at Turner? I did the BMWCCA event last weekend and it was a blast. If you guys go to the PCA event, then I will attend that one instead as the S domination will be more abundant.
