It’s certainly possible but I don’t remember feeling anything like the suspension bottoming out. We do run quit low with pretty soft springs though.

After popping the springs, it should be possible to determine the possible travel. There are relatively inexpensive travel indicators available; not much more than rubber o-rings on a thin steel shaft, you could make your own. In the shop, it would be easy to determine if the ball joint ran out of travel before the bump stop engaged.
