I set them 26 in the morning when there cold. I've done 28 as well but the car felt a little bit better at 26 cold and they usually heated up to 32-33 hot. The RE71r doesn't like to be at higher pressures when hot as the car will feel greasy.

Ditto on 28 hot seeming to be the fastest for me. However, I'm in a stock autocross class and experiencing shoulder wear at maxed out camber on a factory setup. Upping the pressure still seems to slow my times down even though the outside is wearing.. In rain, I've been as low as 22-24 PSI which seemed to do well. I could feel a bit of squirm but it seemed more grippy than higher pressures.

I forgot to bleed them on the first session when i came off track they ere 40psi hot! they definitely felt like they were too high but not too bad grip
I bled down to 34psi hot because it was a cold day.
These tires seemed to have tons of grip for streets but I couldn't realy get a good front end sidewall feel - The car understeered but could be aggressive with throttle and get rear to breakaway a bit and slide round corners pretty nicely
Will spend more time dialing them in will go down from 34psi hot and see if I get more feel/grip

I ran the RE71R last 2 seasons on a different vehicle, at autocross and i came to some odd conclusions about the RE71R. It's a really bazaar tire, when compared to some of its competitors.
Here is what i found:
At low pressure, around 27-29 hot, i would get the tire wear to actually hit the wear marks (triangles) and the car would grip well.
At mid pressures, around 33-36 hot, the car seemed sort of greasy in comparison and the wear was a little ways off from the wear markers.
At high pressures around 40ish hot, the car actually had more grip and felt more nimble and responsive. Although the wear was nowhere near the markers on the sidewalls, it didn't seem to matter for me.
Mid pressures were slowest, time wise. Low pressures and high pressures were surprisingly similar.
Every other tire ive ever used was fastest when the tires were right on the wear marks front and rear. The RE71R didn't seem to care for me and needed very low pressures to hit the wear marks, like 27psi in some instances.
I ended up running higher pressures simply for steering response, since it didn't seem to matter, time wise.
VERY different vehicle though. This was on an EVO 9. Soooo....
Take it for what you will.

40 hot seems quite high, but I can certainly see it helping the car feel more responsive since it bumps up the sidewall firmness. And especially on a Mac Strut evo that deals with a lot of camber loss. A lot of the new extreme 200TW tires give up a bit of sidewall and steering feel in order to improve ultimate grip.
I'm in the high 20s to low 30s hot on RE71R.
