Is this battery setup a tech concern?
My terminal broke and I had a heck of a time crimping on a new one, so I went this route. I am 90% sure it is fine, but didn't want to roll into tech the first time and have an issue.

Getting that super hot and feeding solder into that connection would help. In addition to that, some heat shrink tubing over it would be beneficial..If water gets in there, it will corrode.
A crimp alone is a very poor connection.
To pass tech, I'd at the very least wrap it with electrical tape. You'll pass tech but I saw a GT3/4 car owner get blasted this weekend at annual tech for the same setup.

Crimp AND Solder is best for those types of connections, but heavy (hammer guillotine style) crimp by itself is much better than solder by itself. A piece of heat shrink around the end up to the ring terminal portion and cover it with your red terminal cover and you'll be good to go. I actually prefer to see those types of connections on the after market batteries than the bolt in SAE terminals because those tend to do exactly what happened to you...break.
To address you're actual wire there...how is that end attached to the wire?

But the one above needs some help. It's gonna vibrate, A LOT!! It's gonna get wet and corrode. Sure it'll work but .......
It needs solder and shrink tubing. Can we agree on that?
