Bent 17x10 6ULs

Curious, how much are these rims costing? Most of the prices I see for 17x10 are over $300/wheel. At that price, it is possible to order a ForgeStar with a specific width and offset. Are the wheels being bought less expensive?

I am not a fan Forgestars because of the multiple reports of them breaking.

There are a lot of Corvette racers running on stickier and wider tires than an S2000. In the case of my car raced on 315 front and 335 rear A7s, without a doubt some of the stickiest tires available, I run anywhere from 3250 lbs to 3450 lbs depending upon which class I am racing in at the time. I have a lot more track days on my wheels than most people, F14s included. I cracked one spoke on one wheel in the past four years and I could trace that wheel history to a high speed run on Auto Club Speedway with one of the wheels not properly torqued. That wheel cracked the spoke a few months later.
We talked to Forgestar about this video the morning it was posted and I will comment with some things that aren't being said by the S2000 driver as well as some things that are obvious in his video, if you know what to look for.
1. This S2000 driver is hitting every curb on that track. I've driven Buttonwillow and those are not "little curbs", either. Curb crashers break all wheels.
2. This car looks too softly sprung and was BOTTOMING THE SUSPENSION on every curb he hit (edit: if you read his S2000 forum posts, he has apparently blown out one set of KW coilovers already). Jason and I have watched the video several times and that setup is a recipe for disaster - no matter the wheel maker.
3. This set of Forgestars was THREE years old. They weren't just used a handful of times, either. He clearly misrepresented that in his video.
4. All four wheels had cracks in the spokes the driver ignored for a long time. Old cracks which propagated over many race weekends. And they made LOUD noises for a good while before they let go - you can hear them in the video. The close-up pics revealed the cracks had been there for months and the raw aluminum had started to corrode inside the cracks. Anyone that would have done even a simple HPDE inspection would have seen these cracks long before the first wheel let go.

The second comment is by the distributor for your shocks.
I've been looking at Forgestar for my Supra. The alternatives, other than 1993 OEM sizes, are over $800/wheel. With Forgestar it is possible to custom order width, offset, and in some cases with a choice of the center section recess For about $350/wheel.
Since you went 17x9, did you consider the STR wheels? TireRack has their own C3 17x9+63 wheel for $169 and the Enkei 17x9+60 PF01 wheel for $275, both less expensive. These wheels are used extensively in with 255/40-17 tires in SCCR STR-class autocrossing.

Garbage wheels are garbage, unsafe, and not worth a single dollar, Indefensible.
I can't deal with this "wear item" b.s. excuse. Any wheel that is showing cracked spokes when it's less than three years old, old corroded cracks no less, is garbage, unsafe, and worthy of a class action lawsuit. I remember all of Emillio's horse shit when he was trying to pre-sell the gen 2 17" 949's in here, telling us all wheels are wear items and that none of his Gen 3 15" wheels had failed. Turns out he's released another bendy under engineered garbage cheese wheel. At least it didn't break completely with no contact like his first wheels did.
I hit the shit out of Buttonwillow's curbing, you want to give me an over under on my TC105's? How about my CE28's? You think any of them are going to crack spokes from using the curbs on track at under three years old?
