Best coilovers in the > $1500 range
I unfortunately do not have close to $3k to drop on Zeals. I work full time, go to school full time, and save the spare money I do have for my car. So please keep the "don't cheap out on your car" comments to yourself. I would greatly appreciate it.
However, I was looking at coilover options and was wondering if a few people could pop in with some opinions and suggestions? The car is my daily driver, however, I don't mind a bumpy ride (I think my 375 Front/325 Rear Ground Controls are plenty soft). My daily driving generally takes me the 3 mile round trip to and from work every day and the weekend drives down to Melbourne. I do drive the car on road courses and autocross, so that is something I'm keeping in mind. A few options I were looking at were: 1. Megan Racing coilovers (track valved) 2. GP Sports GR-6 coilovers 3. Buddy Club Racing Spec coilovers 4. Tein RA coilovers 5. KW Variant 3 (thanks cthree!) So, does anyone have experience with these that could point me in the right direction? |
Consider yourself fortunate for not having $3000 to spend on substandard parts. Buy KWs

I can't believe I completely forgot about KW Variant 3's. They are a touch more than I want to spend, but then again, I've heard so much good about them. Thanks for the input!

It's not much more and worth the short term financial pain.

CThree, you have the Ohlins. Why do you recommend the KW's? What differences are there? Thanks.
|
One noticeable difference is a grand or more remaining in your pocket if you go with the KWs ;)
|
The KW V3s are definitely within your range.

Ohlins are in the I don't have $3000 range

Thanks guys, I realize the price difference, I guess I want to know what the extra grand gets you. Cthree, you've been around here as long as I and I've always apreciated your input. Would you elaborate more on your dealings with the Ohlins? Thanks!
