Best Compromise Tire For Track/Autocross/Street

Star Specs are great tires, but PSS look to offer all the dry performance and way better wet performance. Looking forward to getting a set for the FD.

Gotta remember C&D has always said the PS2>all. Doesn't surprise me they say PSS>all too.
Just how the 3 series is the second coming of god.

I was encouraged after reading these tests knowing that their "autocross" course was not really representative heading into the Peru Tour. For anyone who wasn't there, STR ran first in the first run group and on Sunday we were slated to have first car off at 8:00 after storms dropped 1.5" and ended around 6:30 a.m. I decided to roll with the Super Sports on Sunday rather than very fresh RS3's despite the prospect the sun/wind could possibly dry the course by the end of the run group b/c in large part my co-driver would be second car on course. Long and short is the sun came out, wind blew and by the end of the run session, the race line was dry. The Super Sports, while good street tires, are about 80% of the RS3's on dry grip and marginally better in wet. I know for a fact they gave up a second or more the second day from where I could have been. Pretty harsh reality. I sense these testers did not push the RS3's into the degree of slip angle it takes to extract their max level of performance and call BS on this test at least as to dry testing. By the way, I've run two sets of AD08's simultaneously to RS3's and while very sharp in turn in, are also a second back.

Fort Myers street results show Bridgestone dominated the Street classes. BFG STR, STX a mix. Fontana printed results don't show the tire brands so that Pronto screen shot of STR is all there is. http://cdn.growassets.net/user_files...pdf?1489499180.
These results can be colored by contingency awards from BFG causing more of the top cars to run them. Bridgestone has been dominant in the past, so some of the early results may reflect using last year's tires.
Those less familiar with the tire should note that the tire is the Rival S 1.5, not the Rival S. It may also be the case that which tire is faster may be dependent on driving style and how close to the pointy end of the field the driver and car are.
There is also a Direzza ZIII that isn't out yet.
