Exactly. When I ran my stock calipers and stock sized rotors I was going through a set of pads and rotors every 2-3 track days. I got sick of cracking the single piece rotors and having to change them at the track pretty fast so I moved to the Stoptech BBK. Granted the caliper is very different from the stock stuff, but I would say the 2 piece rotors were the biggest improvement. My XP10s have 6 track days on them (2 of which were at Laguna which is brutal on brakes) and the pads are only about half gone. The rotors will most likely wear to thin before they actually crack which is a great feeling.

I was just thinking about Laguna and how it must be hard on brakes. I think I will pack spare set of rotors and pads for this saturday.
Who makes those XP10? I have hawk right now so I need to try different one next.

Good to know. I plan on giving 2 piece rotors a shot with stock calipers because even though the caliper must be generating a lot of the heat, the rotor must be the biggest problem. Adding different calipers and ducting should only add to the improvement, where just adding ducting to the stock setup you are always fighting off the heat that is generated and remains in the rotors.

Out of stock at the moment, but usually partsgeek carries the brembo blanks: http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/200...ake_rotor.html

$54 and they have coupons and free shipping deals. I just switched to BBK, but was able to get ~10 days out of the brembo blanks before getting a bad crack. I am less interested now in the rotor savings vs (1) consistency of braking performance and (2) reduction in pad cost.

I think it's nuts to spend $500+ on 2 piece rotors without a caliper upgrade, but to each their own.

Just got back from Laguna. I need better brakes
Those hawk pads are simply worthless there. When I first put them on car, coming from stock pads, they felt good. But every time I drive they getting worse and worse. They were terrible at Laguna. No bite at all.
Are bigger rotors and calipers answer or better pads like XP10 may be enough?

I would suggest you start with XP10 pads up front. Brake ducting will help extend the life of your expensive pads. The next step is a BBK.

What is good BBK kit to eliminate this problem with brakes?
Are rears also needed?
