Default Brake Ducts in STR

I really need brake ducts on my STR car for track duty, but I haven't added them yet. I've put a lot of thought into alternatives to cutting holes in the front bumper, but that is going to be the best solution for me. So do I just tape over the ducts in the bumper and hope nobody complains? Has anyone ever seen someone protested for doing this? When I'm fast enough to be competitive nationally, I have no problem getting another bumper, but I don't think that's happening anytime soon.

if you are not doing nationals, pro tours, no one at your local region is likely going to care.

I do want to go to nationals this year, but unless I get lucky and squeak out 2nd to last, I don't think there will be anyone in STR with slower times to complain.

If you taped plastic inserts in place over the openings, I bet you could run it like that at national events. There is the slim chance someone would say something, but I doubt it'd be an issue.

I still don't use brake ducts on track to this day.

That's a good idea, I hadn't thought of that.

I hope to be that humble when I'm good enough to be competitive nationally, but unfortunately it's honesty(I've got video evidence).

I'm running out of options. I have the STR wilwood bbk and the last time at the track, I completely wore through a brand new set of XP12s in 2 hours of track time. I'm afraid that they're wearing out quicker at the upper end of their heat range.
