I still don't use brake ducts on track to this day.
Houdini! Flying carpet!

Better safe than sorry though right?
I would think u would be okay at nationals if u plugged the holes.

Never assume... the worst comes out of people when a rule is clearly broken. These people would be the "dicks" who would rather be 31st place than 32nd.

I'm running out of options. I have the STR wilwood bbk and the last time at the track, I completely wore through a brand new set of XP12s in 2 hours of track time. I'm afraid that they're wearing out quicker at the upper end of their heat range.
2 hours of track driving is a lot.
and those pads have only like 8mm of pad material - wich is half of any other performance caliper.

you can try "old dynalite shape" - i have PFC097 and Ferrodo 2500 and both have thiner baking plate with more pad material. IIRC 10mm of material - which is 25% more.

You could cut holes into your dust shield behind the rotor and if you really want an angled piece of metal on the bottom most acting like a ram to help direct whatever is coming from under the car to them.that's how I kept my old crx brakes from burning up

That's a good idea and I've considered it, but right now I'm pretty sold on going with full brake ducts. Right now there's nobody else in my class to even protest, although as a result I'm in 1st for championship series points. I'll probably pick up another bumper cover if I'm going to do any match tours or nationals.

Dang, you have NO other competitors in STR in your region? Where do you live?!? LOL.

If you were competing against me, and squeaked me out by 0.01 seconds, I wouldn't care as long as the ducts were taped over or fully covered. But I'm not Andy Hollis, lol.

One other guy showed up at one of the events this season, that's it. I'm in San Francisco region, too--the perfect place to own a roadster, you'd think STR would be popular. STX and SM are pretty competitive here.
