I have bad news for you. You will definitely never be able to run that car in GTS. Our very own Stephen Pierce just rewrote the Honda Challenge rules. The rule book isn't too big. It will tell you what you can and can't do and what you need to weigh to run your AP1 S2k in one of the Honda Challenge classes. You will also need to reference the NASA CCR as far as the safety requirements and decal placement for the car. You might also want to look at the NASA PT/ST rules where you could run that car in PTD or TT5 fairly easily. All of them can be found at:

Couldn't it just be rebadged?

Your best bet is STU and multiple Nasa classes. T3 limits you to things that won't really let you be competitive in most nasa classes.

If its you and your dad, you should get a 3rd or 4th driver and do endurance racing. The S2000 is very simple and reliable. American Endurance Racing is getting popular here on the east coast. SCCA also has the Devil in the Dark 12h at NJMP in October.
My brother and I will be at WGI with AER in April. Still unsure which other events we'll do. I plan on doing the full COM Sports Car Club time trial schedule next year. We did the Chump/Champ Car 12h at Thompson last year in EC.
I have a great cage builder here in MA, but I'm not sure it would be worth the haul from NJ. I'd say he's done half the cages in the SCCA NER.
