That's why I use the Stoptech pads - they're $70-something for all 4 corners and tolerate up to 1300f, compared to almost $200 for HP+ or $200+ for something like Ferodo DS2500 or Project Mu HC+800, which all operate in roughly the same temp range.
Word. I've tracked with full OEMs. they stop just fine, but they wear much faster than aftermarket pads. Dust a lot more, but will get the job done

what stoptech pads are you using? Are they excessive in squealing during city conditions? thanks.

If I keep extra pads do you think I should keep 2 or 4 extra?
Just get your existing rotors blasted and keep them as spares?

Centric premiums for the last three track days. Great budget rotor. Looking for the right budget pad. I can melt a set of stockers in a day. On ebc yellows, and they are good to the last session, then they go down hill. I think I will try stop tech, lots of people seem to like them.

Stoptech Street Performance. I get mine from Rock Auto. They last me roughly 4-5 track days front and 8-10 rear of 4x30 minute sessions on RS-3s, obviously track dependent.

They don't squeal at all, but can require some warm-up when it's cold out, and dust more than most other street pads I've used. Compared to HP+ though, the track wear rate is equal at less than half the cost, so I deal with having gunmetal colored wheels.

they last that long huh? what track do you normally run on? Is it heavy on the braking? At 70$ for all 4 corners that's a steal!

Summit point is my home track, but I run NJMP and VIR with some regularity as well. I'd say VIR is the only one that's super hard on brakes, but life and fade does depend on ambient temps and session length as well.

In 25 minute sessions with NASA in 75 degree weather 2 years ago I was basically fade free. The last 5 minutes in sessions 3&4 of the day they can start to push their envelope some though. Depending on how hot they get, they'll start to go away really quickly. I had one event where they only lasted 3 days (fronts), but it was 4x 30 minute sessions a day with 105 degree ambient temps.
