Default Cleaning brake dust

What are the better solutions for cleaning brake dust after a track day? I'm talking about dust deposits from track pads, not street pads. I had my first day with the new square setup using TSW Nurburgring wheels and Hawk DTC-60 pads. I had driven the setup on the street to break in the tires and pads and it rained. Then I did the track day. The result was baked on dust that could be scraped off with a fingernail, but was otherwise not interested in coming off with the usual cleaners I have. I tried
Sonax Full Effect Sonax Full Effect
and have to say it's good stuff - I had to be patient to let it work - scrubbing doesn't help that much - it just needs time to react with the brake dust. But the stuff is really expensive as I used nearly the entire bottle to clean the 4 wheels. (Side note: gotta love Amazon - I bought the bottle a week ago for $17.74 Prime and tonight it's $19.05 if I want to reorder.)

Sonax is available in
bulk bulk
for about 1/3 the price. But I'm struggling with the idea of spending $135 on wheel cleaner - no matter how good it is.

Any other suggestions for good cleaners that might be more reasonably priced?

What do you put on the wheels BEFORE your events?

The mistake you made was letting DTC60 dust get wet, otherwise it wipes right off.

In desperation on two occasions I used Easy-Off oven cleaner. Be sure to have a good supply of running water to rinse and clean up and don't use it near plantings that you wish to keep.

I hear you, but avoiding wet is kind of hard in Colorado as we get afternoon rain quite often in July and August.
