I know this is an older post, but any update on an ap1 version? This overlay looks really cool! Also, will this work with track addict?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Can't thank the OP enough for the overlay! I use it constantly.

FWIW, skatebrian is still rocking humbucker's overlay on his AP1, you just lose the last 1krpm of resolution. The refresh rate is much slower now on his ap1 compared to his old CR, which points to the pre-06 being the culprit for the slower refresh rates.

For the ap1 picture, I can work on that.
As far as sampling rates, I wonder how much is has to the OBD2 adapter you are using. I know many people use the cheapo versions instead of the recommended. Also, regardless of the adapter the serial bus on the older cars may only be capable of limited refresh rates. As stated above. If you reduce the channels does that improve the sampling rate?

Here's my setup:
QStarz 818XT
OBDLink LX (Not MX - I've heard the MX's sampling rate is slower from another user, but I haven't been able to verify this)
RaceChrono
RaceRender3
Works perfectly, but there are a few important things to note:
-I've heard the cheapo OBD readers have major QC issues - that's why I splurged on the OBDLink LX
-before uploading your data file to RaceRender, delete the GPS speed column - RaceRender defaults to reading your GPS data first before your OBD data, but I've found the OBD data for speed to be much more accurate
The link to my metric template is old. If others would like it, I can post it again. Here's what it looks like: https://www.youtube....h?v=DbJNo5CaIlM

Thanks Apex. I gave it a quick stab, but I don't have time to actually test any video out. If you don't mind trying it out and let me know if needs any tweaks...there's a chance it could be really wacky
