Default Cutting out rear bulkhead

Hi guys

Has anyone here who runs a hard top and a proper welded roll cage try to cut out the rear bulkhead which traditionally supports the soft top set up? There seems like an awful lot of sheet metal there which can be gutted.

Im trying to put the chassis on the diet and so far i will attempt to

1. Gut A pillars - a saving of approx 20lbs total

2. Trim transmission tunner - a saving of approx 21 lbs total

Any other suggestions greatly appreciated. Car is 2464 lbs now. i'e like to take it below 2300 if possible. Headlights and tailights must work!

2464 seems awfully heavy for a gutted car...

I think most people use a harness at that point. I have the RSG replacement bar.

Very, very nice fabrication. Did you TIG weld it yourself?

Yea, I got tig, not professional welder but I can weld things together. Found whole pile of this square tubing at local scrap yard for $2 a piece so I bought them all.
Trying to find things to make out of it. Also made 4 jacks 10" tall to put under the car so I can take all 4 wheels off and work on suspension when I need
