Do aftermarket sway bars really help?

Yeah a stock suspension car can do great and can benefit from a sway bar (Afterall, when i first got into my first S2000 they were the car to have in SCCA Solo A-Stock). But if the driver isn't pushing hard enough to get any body roll out of the stock suspension, they aren't pushing enough to benefit from an aftermarket swaybar.
