Default Dog box vs Quaife sequential

Hello I own a 07 s2000 and I am a big buy (bodybuilder size guy) and I cannot heal toe in this car it is impossible for me to do so comfortably

Now I started looking into a trans that would help me work around this problem while helping me cut down on time spent shifting gears

I was looking at either ppg 1 true 6 dog gears or spending the extra money and get the quaife sequential unit

Now there is a big price difference as the quaife is double the price of the dog gears so I would like to ask a couple of question to some guys here on the forum so you can help me make an educated purchase because it will be a first for me to buy ether a dog box or sequential

What would be the advantage of stepping up to the quaife in term of shifting speed and reliability would it be worth the added cash ?

I am also planning to drive the car on the street still so what am I looking at in terms of maintenance and over all cost of ownership ?

Also how much time could I shave on a medium sized track with such trans like this in my S ?

Thanks in advanced guys !

Hi Af zan I would like to stay away such electronic product I like my car on the raw side of things

I would also like to look at these transmition as another stepping stone in my project and since the car is fully done up it is truly the next step for me

I also like the fact that it takes the clutch pedal out of the equation and will over all help me gain speed everywhere on the track

neither tranny doesn't still require you to rev match your downshifts tho you don't have to be as smooth, but thats more to do with a light flywheel/clutch.

seems different pedals and some practice is gonna be the best bang for the buck.

I will look into pedals and see if I can stretch something here and make it happened

The trans upgrade is still something I am looking into doing so I can reduce time at the track shifting and what not

If any body have experience with both I would still like to know the pros and cons of both thanks

Krazik

My car is 50/50 % street race and I really don't do that much mileage in a year

Do you think that I could get away with driving on the street with the quaife ?

Also what is the maintenance on them and the over all cost of ownership ?

What are the advantage of the sequential vs a dog box ?

Thanks in advance buddy

You will not want a sequential for the street. Auto-blip on this car or another is the best option.

Other options are pedal extensions or bending pedals to accommodate. Certain shoes lend themselves to HEEL -Toe better than others. Never say never!
