Default First track impressions of my S2K track car

The car is an 03 gutted and caged, SRC coilovers, Voltex wing, APracing front bumper and splitter, Volk CE28s, 17x9 255 Nitto NT01. I ran it at Summit Point last weekend and was very pleased overall. I have been W2W racing for about 8yrs and have had 3 German cars in the past. I expected the handling to be good, and it was actually better than I expected. The car may be a bit under sprung with 12k at all 4 corners. It wasn't twitchy at all. Most impressive was the controlled rotation of the car in low speed corners very smooth and predictable. Easier to drive than my longer wheel base E36 M3. It was down on power, but that was expected. My exit speed was much faster than the C5 Z06s and it took every bit of the straight away for them to get by. Excited to develop this car further.

Note: I found this interesting. I got home late, left the car on the trailer overnight. This morning it was covered in frost. While it was warming up I noticed where the frost was melting on the hood. I have been researching IF and WHERE to vent the hood, so it immediately caught my attention. Directly over the header is where it melted. Not surprising right? But that was the only place on the hood that was warm to the touch after 15 minutes of idle. Roughly a 12"x12" section. Food for thought.

There is a good crew of Honda Challenge S2000's in the MA/NE area. Any chance we'll see you out there next year?

No, that would be quite a hike for me. I'm in Ohio, Great Lakes region of NASA. Our division hasn't had an H1 car rigister for an event in 2 years. So that means I will run in PTB or ST3. Unless you guys plan to run with the Great Lages region
