Which fuel cell to use?

Hey guys,

I am thinking of mounting a fuel cell in the car for extra safety. It's not required by my class, but I figured I might want to put one anyways.

For the guys that do run a fuel cell, which make/model are used?

Just trying to get some opinions on what to get.

Thanks,

Bill

make sure it's got foam in it...
I bought one a couple of months ago (not for the S) and it came with out a foam core... didn't even notice until I was filling it up...

I'm running a fuel safe 15G tank. Foam and I had to build an intank surge tank to deal w/ starvation.

Would the surge tank you built be something that could be transplanted into a stock gas tank?

There is a suge tank in the OEM tank. They just did not install the flappers

ckit probably. The surge area in the stock tank has a slit/hole on one side (left iirc) that sorta defeats the purpose. So if I were to do it you would want to figure out how to fill that hole. Also my surge tank tho is setup for an external pump.

I put 2 oem pumps in each rear corner of the tank that pump into a box (piece of 4" tube in my case w/ a bottom welded on). Then my external pump sucks from the surge tank and the return from the motor also returns to the surge tank.

Another user here did something similiar on the oem tank where they put an in tank electric pump in 1 corner that pumped into the oem surge "tray".
