Interested in these!

What is the reasoning behind the alternating silver tabs on the bolts?

For centering the ring if had to guess.

The only set of rotors I've ever cracked has been slotted.

I'm hesitant but damn they're pretty.

From Girodisc's website: "The pins are secured by grade 12 cap screws with hardened washers. In order to keep the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring clips on the rotor side which allow the rotor to grow with heat expansion but eliminate the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to self center between the pads."

I would imagine they found these spring clips were only needed on every other pin to provide the desired effect of keeping the rotors from rattling when cold. The hat design on these is pretty unique with that little raised lip.

I've been running the RacingBrake +1 rear kit for a couple of years now. I love it. My rear brake pads are lasting forever. I'm using Cobalt XR3s. Brake balance and ABS are fine and the rear hubs are running about 200 degrees F cooler than stock which is good for the bearings.

Here's the link to the RacingBrake.com rear big brake kit: http://www.racingbra...09-p/2147-k.htm

Many, many race teams run slotted rotors. I blame poor metallurgy over slotted.

Not to mention the cracked slotted rotors probably were not 2 piece floating rotors.

I've run the RacingBrake slotted, slotted with holes all the way through the disk and now plain rotor rings. On the two rings I cracked the cracks did not emanate from a slot or slot hole. So well made slotted disks (good metallurgy) are fine for serious track duty.
