H&R coilovers... any good?
Howdy;
I just found out that the car I'm getting to convert to a track car has a set of H&R coilovers on it. I don't have any idea as to the model # if there's more than one for the S2k.
Are these potentially any good?
Thanks

Not sure what the S2000 package is like but we've had good experience with them on our Integra and TL. Granted the TL ones were custom valved. Most of their coil-overs are non-adjustable. On the Integra, the base valving still worked great even when we bumped up the spring rates (+200lbs). All of them have been aluminum bodied so they were pretty light.
You'll just have to try it but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised unless your already used to fancy stuff (jrz, moton, etc..).

They're non-adjustable in the S2000 fitment as well. Most people think they're too soft to seriously track the car but I've never driven them myself so that's just 3rd part hearsay. Construction is great, they use Bilstein dampers, they have the remote reservoirs in the rear so travel is sufficient. The ones I've seen are a very high-quality piece overall (as you'd expect with anything from Germany).
Try them out and see what you think. They're already in the car so no sense swapping them unless you hate them imho.

They sound better than stock, so it's a nice bonus. (As are the HPS wheels... look for those in the FS forum in May )
Thanks for the info

Drewchie: let me know how you like the H&Rs and if you plan to sell them later. Do you happen to know how many miles are on them? I knew someone before that had them on his S and they were good for the street...not overly stiff and road very well. But they did seem like they'd be a bit soft for the track (just a guesstimate since we never went on the track).

The car only has 11k miles on it, and the H&Rs only a few k. I located the original owner in Fla. (the car is a theft recovery) and apprently he took very good care of it.
I'm not picking up the car until 4/29, but I'll have plenty of time to get to know them at that point. (It's nearly 3000 miles back to LA with the detour to Spring Fling '05, so I'm glad they're not too stiff. )
Even if I upgrade this car to JRZs, I'd probably just swap the H&Rs to the street car. If not, I'll let you know...
