Is the Recaro Pole Position a halo seat? I thought the Recaro Pro Racer was their halo seat.

Pro racer and pro racer XL are the halo seats. I have a pro racer XL, which fit bolted to floor, no tunnel mods.

If your thinking ahead, the window net mounting becomes difficult. This likely applies to all the halo seats. It works, but is challenging.

 

That assumes a hardtop. Wouldn't the car already have a cage to mount the window net to?

 

Can you close the window with any of these seats?

My window closed fine with stock interior. Small seat contact with door panel.

 

No, it assumes both a cage and hardtop. Yes, the net mounts to the cage, but the space at the junction of the hardtop, cage, and seat wing becomes tight.

 

My car is totally gutted, and currently have only a temporary window that can be installed. However, if it was still stock ish, I could close the door

If you provided them with the dimensions of the cockpit, I imagine Butlerbuilt, Kirkey, and probably Ultrashield could make the seat to fit. Custom aluminum vs standard GRP or carbon. I'm surprised there that there aren't custom molded GRP or carbon seats...or at least I haven't seen any.
