Hard Dog Roll Bar Issues- Help Needed

I'm hoping someone that has a Hard Dog (or other roll bar) installed in their S2000 can offer some assistance.

Could someone that has a roll bar in their S2000 perhaps measure the distance shown in the photos so I can see if my roll bar is built correctly?

The Robbins top install video clearly shows that the convertible top bow that goes behind the roll bar should be 24 inches away from the back of the opening the top goes in as I show in the photo. Problem is: mine is 22 inches and smacking into the roll bar and the roll bar is preventing the bow of the top frame from moving forward a full 2 inches.

The photos with the pink yard stick is the install instructions from Robbins, the one yellow tape measure is what's happening on my car. I've also included a photo of how loose the straps are that supposed to be under tension and stop the bow from moving forward. Everything I'm seeing points towards the top roll bar being too far back, but I need to confirm this is the case.

I've already contacted the company that made the roll bar and they said they don't have a S2000 handy to make any measurements. So I'm hoping someone would be so kind to take a photo with a yard stick or tape measure showing where their bar is located, so I can share that with the manufacturer.

Thank you for any help! This is driving me crazy as I can't get the car back on the road or track to enjoy it until this is sorted out.

Please help if you can.

Your pic isn't showing.

Certainly in Austin, there is someone local with an S2000 that can drive to you or you to them to compare.

Good luck.

I think I finally fixed the photo issue. I posted in the local Facebook forum and haven't heard back. Hopefully someone can assist as it's a rather frustrating situation and I really want to know if there's an issue with the roll bar as I suspect there is.

Photos are visible.

While I do have a HardDog, my soft top is removed from the car.

I doubt it's the HardDog, is your soft top OEM? You do mention Robbins in your OP.

Good luck.

My soft top hasn't been installed yet, as it appears the roll bar is not properly fitting I don't want to install the top until I'm sure the roll bar issue is resolved. If you would be so kind as to measure from the back of the top opening to the roll bar we'd know if your roll bar and mine are different.

My top bar hits the roll bar like your pics show. Its never been a problem. It just leaves a little rub spot on each side and doesnt make any noise.

Saw your post on facebook.

It's not the roll bar.

Same for me. The two bars are snug against each other. Hasn't been an issue for the three years I've had the roll bar installed.

Mine do not touch, but I installed the roll bar a couple centimeters forward from flush, to ensure the top could fully go down and up.
