Default Helmets

I am going to get back into the world of autox and HPDE, so I need a helmet as I gave my old one away. I have no intention of doing anything beyond HPDE. NASA at this point still allows motorcycle helmets, although some clubs like PCA are starting to require SA2010 helmets, my fear is NASA will follow suite. I don't want to spend much, to me it is a helmet. So with that, I am between a HJC motorcycle helmet $100ish or one of the cheap ebay Motorsport helmets $180ish. Any thoughts/recommendations?

Just buy a SA2010 and be done with it and not have to worry about the rule changes.

How much is your head worth?

That's a pretty heavy helmet, about 5 lbs. If you can spend the money, I would see if you can get a lighter SA2010 helmet. There really is a difference (in a good way) with a lighter helmet.

Or get a HANS to go with it.

HANS doesn't take the weight off your neck.

Your neck gets tired in an S2000? Mine apparently weighs 4lbs and I have never noticed it.

...

Amazon has a pretty open return policy.
