Default help with saner bar installation

I have been installing a saner bar and have been getting a creaking noise under the car when the car goes over bumps, small or big. I have noticed, though, that it only makes noise when only one side of the car goes over a bump. If both sides go over a bump at the same time, e.g. a speed bump, then there is no sound. I have been trying to find what is causing the noise for a couple weeks now and tried all kinds of different bar positions, but still get the noise.

Will I have to live with this noise? Does anybody else have this problem?

I've read about this before but don't remember the fix. Something to do with silicone grease and tightening the collars to make sure they're right up next to the brackets. Try doing a search. My Saner bar is still in the garage and I'm planning the install for tomorrow if nothing else blows up in my face before then

After reading everything on this forum posted about the saner bar and after multiple adjustments, un and re-intstalls the noise is still there for me. The only solution that helps is to turn the radio up when cruising at parking lot speeds. The noise doesn't seem to be related to any handling issues....

ok, its relieving to know that this is a common problem. I even hear the creaking when I brake sometimes, but I guess I could live with it.

333, are you serious about the veg. oil? You mean putting the oil between the bushings and the bar?

Is it the metal to metal knock sound? This is what I get at low speeds. Apparently from the bar hitting the metal collars around the bushings. Talk about annoying.

I am not sure what the source of the sound is. I get the sound at low speeds too. Actually, I may be getting the sound at higher speeds, and the engine and wind noise blocks out the sound from the bar.

Asura, how is the bar hitting the metal collars? Aren't the bushings covering the bar from the collars?

Just did the Saner install yesterday. Everything went great. I followed the directions posted in this forum about a month ago. Only change I made was to leave the aluminum collars off. I went to Home Depot and got some rubber sheet and a few band clamps. I cut the rubber sheet to length (circumference of the bar) and about 2 inches wide and band clamped it to the bar right next to the mounting brackets. I put two band clamps on each piece of rubber. The band clamp closest to the mounting bracket is about 1/16" away from the bracket. I drove about 80 miles after installing, no clicking, no moaning (other than me trying to figure out how to put the end links together), no additional noise at all.

Redline, I am right there with you. I have the exact same problem. You might note my post SANER BAR BLUES.
