Petit leman at Road Atlanta (for me) just confirmed that we are witnessing one of the best eras in sportcar racing. Absolutely amazing to see cars with Toyota Camry reliability being driven at sprint pace and racing that comes down to the final laps.

IMSA might just be the best racing series.... in the world? I think it's quite telling that teams like Joest and Penske, truly world-class operations, have invested HEAVILY in the sport. If last year's attendance at Daytona and Sebring were any indication, the series and sport is healthier than ever, and getting better still. I can't wait to spend four days in the Daytona infield in January soaking it all in. Sebring is going to be WILD next year, too, with the WEC/IMSA double-header. I used to be a hard-core F1 nut, but this has pretty much completely replaced any interest I have in that series because it's SO much more accessible to spectate (obviously) and so much more fun to watch.
