Kumho has announced the release of a new tire for 2001, and added 205/45/16 as an available size. This should be an ideal tire for the S2000 front, as it will tame the understeer and keep the front from leaning as much, which in turn helps lift the inside rear tire. Should make the car much easier to drive on race tires, which should make it faster, but more importantly - consistent! Stay tuned for further details.
For those of you who are SCCA members, check the latest issue on p.43 for a picture of the new tire the 'Ecsta V700'.

Please correct me if I'm off base here (I'm a novice).
I would think that this tire would work best for us if we don't get a stiffer front sway bar. Do you agree? If we get a stiffer front sway bar I would think that we would be better off with a larger tire up front for the following reasons:
1. More grip is better
2. The stiffer front sway bar (adjustable) will allow us to not change the grip bias on the car for the most part.
Is my thinking off on this? I'm kind of thinking out loud here.
What are your thoughts,
Etgar

Actually Scott at King Motorsports told me that the 31mm Mugen bar will help especially well when running race tires.
He explained it something like this:
Race tires will give more grip to both the front and rear tires. However proportionally more grip will go to the front (compared to the stock tires).
More grip on the front will introduce more oversteer, especially at the limit. The 31mm bar will induce understeer and make the car safer and handle better, again, especially at the limit.
I "think" that's right, but I'm no expert. Call King for details.
