Default Life of bearings, hubs, studs

My plan this winter was to install extended studs and was going to do new bearings and hubs while I had everything apart. None of the components have failed yet but I am doing it as preemptive maintenance since I am running Hoosiers now.

After reading through a bunch of threads I decided I am going to reuse the original hub and just order some NSK bearings and extended studs.

What kind of life are you guys getting out of hubs and bearings running Hoosiers and other sticky tires?

I think a lot depends on brake cooling. The better you cool your brakes the longer they should last. That said I hear of guys changing rears annually with OEM brake setup.

I get 30-40 race hours out of rear wheel bearings and reuse the hubs once and studs once. I replace the fronts at the same time, even though I've never worn one out or had one fail.

I've had ARP studs fail and have switched to MSI (supplier to most NASCAR teams) and have not had a failure since.

After having one fail on track, I replace the hubs and bearings all around every year as part of annual maintenance.

Did it fail catastrophically and cause problems? I just figured I would hear it and worse case end my weekend early

Turned my car in to a tripod when the wheel fell off.

Wow, and you didn't feel or hear anything prior?!

Slight vibration through T11 and 12 at VIR, enough to where I didn't immediately get back to power on exit of 12. It let go at 14. Nothing out of the ordinary prior to that.

Another vote for MSI studs and lug nuts. They are made in my tiny hometown of Troutman, NC. I have had them on my car for about a year. I’m still happy with them, but admittedly have not abused them as much as I wanted to.
