Default Looking for geared s2ks

well like he title says i am looking for owners who have gears in there s2k. I have purchased some 4.77 and while i know they will enhance my low end but on a track how will the effect me? For instance what are some disadvantages to having these on the track. Any help would be appreciated.

this has been discussed in many threads......they usually hurt because you will be changing gears constantly and changing in a turn which is not good.

Actually, the synopsis is that gears are track dependent with respect to what is optimal. I believe a more correct generalization would be: the longer and faster a track, the taller the gears (ie 4.10's vs 4.77's) should be.

I'll look for something to add to the FAQ, it has been discussed.

It all depends on the track ^^. In most cases 4.10 or 4.44 provides the best compromise between top end, acceleration and shifting frequency. 4.77 is too low 90% of the time from my experience. I've tracked with 4.10, 4.57 and 4.77. I'm convinced the right ratio is 4.44 given 4.10 being a touch too high and 4.57 a touch on the low side. I also don't think it's worth bothering with unless you think 4.10 isn't working well on your track(s).
