Default Mechanical LSD upgrade - alignment changes?

Hey there,

Just about to drop a 4.44 geared diff with a Carbonetics/ATS 1.5 metal LSD into my car and not long after, will have an alignment done.
Are there any recommendations for alignment changes after this install?

I'm assuming I might not need to run as much toe in (currently 4mm left/right)? Or run it as is and see how it goes? This is my first time running an aftermarket clutch type LSD

It will be pushier. I'd assume you'd need less toe or less front bar.

When I put my OS Giken in I didn't change my alignment at all. Car feels just as balanced at the limit as before, including turn in, mid-corner, and on exit.

(Note some may recall me complaining about it being very loose after the install, but I've determined that was because of the old tires I was running)

My car is pushier with the OS Giken LSD. Inside wheel lift/spin with the stock diff helps transfer torque to the outside rear wheel which helps the car turn. I have softened my front anti-roll bar and may have to soften my front shock settings.

Hey Rob, which version of the Giken do you have, regular or the HPD tuned version?

Interesting... thanks for the responses.
Might try running slightly less toe in and see how that goes. At the moment on corner exit it can get a bit sloppy but hopefully the LSD will help that out
Worst case I can also adjust the front sway on the day...

PuddyMod Racing tuned my Giken but I don't know what he actually did to it. He knew it was a caged, track only car though.

I'd also like to know this, does the aftermarket clutch diff allow running less rear toe in, since it helps put power down better?

I would keep the alignment the same so you can see what effect the diff has. Tune from that point on.

IMO 4mm left and right, 8mm total (0.72 degrees), is entirely too much toe to begin with. I'd never run any more than half that, preferably a third that or even less, with or without the diff mod.
