Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, there is an open practice event (joint with POC) at Chuckwalla this Friday 3/1 and the config is CW. Ameer (squirtle) and I will be going if any other S2Ks want to play hooky and invade some Porsches to get some practice before the Challenge next month 
The event is $150 and if you're interested, PM me your e-mail address and I can send you the forms to sign up.

No timing is available on Friday. Driver's meeting is 8:15 am, track runs from 9 to 5. Only 23 drivers signed up as of this afternoon, and they might cap it around 45-50 cars. They plan to run an open passing group and a point by group, unless it's crowded and they'll open another run group.

No, as far as I know, it's just an open test day. I plan to use an AIM Solo, but I believe there are a few cheap/free smart phone apps that can work as a GPS lap timer like the Solo. I'll confirm when I call tomorrow and get an idea of when the sessions begin and how often the run groups go out.
