Minimum setup for sub 2 lap at BW 13CW
For those of you who have been able to get a sub 2 minute lap at Buttonwillow (13CW) I'm curious ...
What are the least amount of mods you had to make to get a sub 2 lap?

I believe anorexicpoodle said 1 point mod wise in the Maxxis S2K Challenge is about equivalent to 1 second at BW13CW.

On youtube there are some sub 2 minute laps on square RE71Rs with full suspension mods and what sounds like I/H/E and lightened flywheel or clutch mods, but no aero. I've seen stock laps at 2:05 on RE71Rs, and it's probably a safe bet that high-end suspension and bolt-on engine stuff is probably worth about 5 seconds, so that all adds up.
My guess is you either need aero, suspension, or R-comps to drop below 2 minutes. Without one of those, it would be pretty tough to make enough grip.

A stock CR with mismatched non-R comp 255 square has gone 2:03
This (minus RE71R as they are an extra point) is what the S2K Challenge street class cars are, for the most part.

Numerous people have done sub 2 with intake + testpipe, coilovers, and square 255 tire w/ 17x9 wheel - 17x10 is preferred.
Get current gen extreme street tires - rs4 at the least, or re71r / rival s for more grip.
the above is definitely possible in sub 85F ambient.
if you want an easier time, add a wing - go smaller, if you don't plan on adding a splitter, or you'll struggle with understeer going through riverside and the sweeper.
run nt-01 or rc1 if you want more lap to lap consistency.
essentially, a 5.25 point s2k challenge car will easily get a skilled driver to sub 2min fairly consistently in cooler weather.
-small wing (gtc200)
-intake + tp
-17x9 or 10 w/ 255 square tires
-rs4 or re71r or rival s or nt01/rc1

Ameer did this a few years ago. He did it with I/H/E, KW Clubsports, flashpro, 17x9.5 CE28s, 245 RS3s, and no aero.

There are plenty of sub 2:00 non-aero videos of buttonwillow CW13 now - http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...o+buttonwillow
Between the repave, which many believe is 1 second faster than the old "bumpy-willow" and the newer tires which are as fast or faster than NT-01s when new, there's at least an extra -2 seconds that have probably been shaved off of lap times.
